Designing Last Mile Delivery Logistics Management for DIGIKALA Company

Project Overview
With growing the company and increasing amount of orders, the automation system for delivery was so important because of saving time and energy and facilitating the process of delivery. And we also needed to categorize the reasons for product retention and other accidents that happened to the parcels. Designing an application could cover all our needs for logistic system at the moment. We needed it so fast and before the high season of the e-commerce which was  the end of winter (before our new year). So after the task came from the need of the logistic department we became a team of two me and a mobile developer. We almost did everything from getting out of the building and talking to the stakeholders at the warehouse and the drivers. We sat a meeting with a group of 10 drivers to ask about they needs and their ideas and challenges of product delivery. It was mind-blowing how they helped us to design the app.
Design Process

Four steps of Discovery, Define, Design and Test were my fundamental roadmap. The entire design process beginning from understanding the problem, finding a solution and developing it.

Research

First I started to search the similar apps which designed for couriers like online on-demand services apps. After benchmark and find out all of them are easy to uses and simple, I decided to draw some wireframes to visualize what’s in my mind. The solution was a simple, easy to implement and a low implementation cost native app. After having an interactive workshop with stakeholders, we prioritized our main goal to be increasing operation efficiency through:Designing an app for couriers with the intention of speeding up the delivery process. It will be a simple yet meaningful user experience for a courier on mobile devices and also a smart plan for back office to check what’s going on during the delivery time span.

The main problems
Persona

The persona were couriers both with motorcycles and cars which used map to navigate and deliver the parcels. The map was crucial for them so I designed it in two themes(light and dark) to be more accessible during the different business ours and  for easier usage. They needed the product to be easy to use and navigate through it effortlessly, easy to access and straight forward.

One Native App for Android
I planned to create an application for Android platform since all the Couriers had android devices.
